Now that the talk of making the dream of a swimming pool a possible reality in Anderson County has begun again, I’d like to offer a citizen’s suggestion related to our county needing a facility to provide activities for both our children and adults.
Most of us would agree that our county is in dire need of a facility that would provide a place for youth to hang out and spend time with friends, and most of us would prefer that their activities be of a healthy nature.
Paul Edward Dennis, 60, of Lawrenceburg, died Saturday, June 15, 2013, at Frankfort Regional Medical Center.
He was the son of the late Ezra Pete Dennis and Clara Belle Doss James. He was a glaze operator at Florida Tile in Lawrenceburg for 39 years.
Emily Catherine “Cathy” Fenwick Metcalf, 66, died Saturday, June 15, 2013, at her residence.
She was born in Loretto to the late Joseph Edward and Mary Catherine Peavy Fenwick.
Cathy was a former employee of G.E. and Wal-Mart in Frankfort. In 1964 she graduated from Fredrickstown High School in Washington County. She enjoyed swimming at Falling Springs in Versailles and was a member of the Fun & Fitness Club at First Christian Church in Lawrenceburg.
Col. Robert Linwood Hurst, 83, retired United States Air Force, died peacefully at his home June 12, 2013, in Houston, Texas.
Bob was born on Jan. 22, 1930, on the family farm in Anderson County to Walter and Maymie Hurst.
The Kentucky Truck Tuggers sponsored an event to benefit the Anderson County Relay for Life at Eagle Lake Convention Center last Friday. “We had a great show and raised a nice chunk of money for Relay,” said event coordinator Melanie Wiley.
