Anderson County got the win it needed Thursday night when the Bearcats defeated visiting Spencer County, 5-3, in boys' high school soccer action.
The win gives Anderson the No. 3 seed in the 30th District Tournament, to be held Oct. 12-17 at Spencer County High School. In the tournament, the Bearcats will take on Shelby County, a team that defeated the Bearcats, 4-3, in a penalty kick shootout Tuesday night on the Anderson pitch. Spencer, the No 4 seed, will tangle with Collins, the three-time defending district champion.
