New company offers conceal carry classes and so much more

As Americans continue to arm themselves in record numbers, two Lawrenceburg men want to make sure that, locally, those buying and carrying guns do so safely and effectively.
Jeff McCormick and John Giles have formed M&G Tactical, a company dedicated to teaching people to defend themselves that goes beyond being certified to carry a concealed firearm.

Ward crowns students ‘kings’ and ‘queens’ of reading

Emma B. Ward students were recognized and rewarded for their Accelerated Reading accomplishments May 21, according to a news release.
“The school wide reading program encourages students to read books and take quizzes on those books in order to meet point goals set by their teachers,” Ward accelerated reading organizers said in the release.
Ward students earned a total of 20,950 points for the year. The boy and girl from each grade who earned the most points were crowned AR King and Queen.

SOFTBALL: Two named all-tourney; Glass Coach of Year

Lady Bearcats named all region

Two Anderson County High School softball players were named to the Eighth Region's All-Tournament team last week. Junior outfielder Molly Burkhead and sophomore shortstop Corrin Robinson were selected to the all-tournament team, which was announced after the championship game Wednesday night.
