It was a simple old-school drill that Anderson County football coach Mark Peach put his team through last week.
It’s called the gauntlet.
“We ran that every day,” Bearcat senior Brayden Russell said.
As the name suggests, the drill consists of ball carriers having to go between two lines of players or coaches trying to knock the ball away or cause a fumble.
It’s a drill that is almost as old as the game itself, but it worked as Anderson rolled to a 35-7 win over visiting Woodford County Friday night.
