When Christian Academy of Lawrenceburg let it be known recently that the school is looking at the possibility of adding football to its sports program, the most common reaction was a bit of surprise.

Sure, football is an expensive proposition. Real expensive.
Outfitting a player can cost well over $600 per person at the outset, although most of the equipment can last several years. Equipment, such as footballs and field maintenance, is not cheap either.
Goal posts and bleachers cost money. So do scoreboards.
