  • Alma Gene and Danny Darnell recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a luncheon hosted by their family.

    They were married Sept. 1, 1960.

    Mrs. Darnell, the former Alma Moore, is a daughter of the late Clyde and Christine Moore of Lawrenceburg.

    Mr. Darnell is a son of the late J.C. and Velma Darnell of Lawrenceburg.

    The Darnells are farmers.

    They have two children, Christy Burke and her husband, Wayne, and Danette Warford and her husband, Kevin, both of Lawrenceburg.

  • John and Angela Thornberry of Huntsville, Ala. announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Whitney Shea Thornberry, to Patrick Jason Brandt, son of Larry and the late Rhonda Brandt of Waterloo, Iowa.

    The bride-to-be is a granddaughter of Russ and Fran Williamson, the late Phyllis Williamson, and the late Clarice and Leon Thornberry, all of Lawrenceburg.

    She is a 2007 graduate of Auburn University where she earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in theatre performance.

    He weighed 6 pounds, 15 ounces and was 19 inches long.

  • Christopher Mattox and Holly Murphy-Mattox of Frankfort announce the birth of their son, Harper Liam Mattox, on July 19, 2010 at Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington.

    He weighed 8 pounds, 4 ounces and was 21 inches long.

    His maternal grandparents are Arnold and Alma Murphy of Lawrenceburg and the late Mary Jane Richardson.

    His paternal grandmother is Suzanne Rodriguez of Columbia, S.C.

    His paternal great-grandmother is Rosemary Terry of Aiken, S.C. 

  • Jeffrey Byrd and Brittany Waughtal of Harrodsburg announce the birth of their daughter, Katilyn Emily Byrd, on June 21 at the Frankfort Regional Medical Center in Frankfort.

    She weighed 8 pounds, 6 1/2 ounces and was 20 inches long.

    She was welcomed home by a sister, Kyleigh Jean, 3.

    Her maternal grandparents are Katherine Waughtal of Lawrenceburg and Tracy and Debbie Dresch of Independence, Mo.

    Her maternal great-grandparents are Maebeth Waughtal of Branson, Mo. and Paul and Marylyn Dresch of El Dorado Spring, Mo.

  • Truman and Lois Wells of Lawrenceburg will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary with a reception on Sunday, Sept. 26 from 2 to 5 p.m. at Lawrenceburg United Methodist Church Simpson Center at 565 Carlton Drive.

    They were married Sept. 23, 1950 by the Rev. Herman E. Rowlette at his home in Louisville.

    Mrs. Wells, the former Lois Lawrence, is a daughter of the late Charles and Roma Lawrence of Shelbyville.

    Mr. Wells is a son of the late Roy and Lillis Wells of Lawrenceburg.

    He is a World War II veteran and a retired contractor.

    The bride-to-be is a daughter of the late Robert Gregory. Her grandparents are the late Hershel and the late Eva Jane Brooks, John and the late Anita Gregory and Delores Weaver, all of Baltimore, Md.

    Mrs. Campbell, the former Joyce Tingle, is a daughter of Brenda Thompson of Lawrenceburg and the late James Lee Tingle.

    Mr. Campbell is a son of the late Joe Campbell and the late Margaret Campbell.

    He is employed by Jim Beam Brands Co. in Frankfort.

    They have two children, Tanner Lee and James Tyler, both of Lawrenceburg.

    Mrs. Richardson, the former Belinda Barnett, is a daughter of the late Carold and Marie Barnett.

    She is retired from state government.

    Mr. Richardson is a son of Billy Gene and Joyce Richardson.

    He is retired from state government.

    The Richardsons have three children, Katie Richardson and Jamie Richardson of Lawrenceburg and Amy Wetherly of Frankfort.

    He weighed 6 pounds, 15 ounces and was 19 inches long.

    His maternal grandparents are Perry and Teresa White of Mackville. His maternal great-great-grandmother is Dorothy Carey of Mackville.

    His paternal grandparents are Larry and Shirley Cooper of Lawrenceburg. His paternal great-grandparents are Don and Kathleen Cooper of Lawrenceburg.

     

  • Chrystal and David McChesney of Lawrenceburg announce the birth of their daughter, Scarlett Marie McChesney, on July 15, 2010 at Frankfort Regional Medical Center in Frankfort.

    She weighed 7 pounds and was 19 inches long.

    She was welcomed home by a brother, Logan, 10.

    Her maternal grandparents are Steve and Brenda Hall of Frankfort.

    Her paternal grandparents are Patsy McChesney and the late Edward McChesney of Frankfort. 

  • Stacy and Rusty Waldridge celebrated their 11th wedding anniversary on Aug. 14 at their home in Anderson County.

    Family and friends joined the couple for a vows renewal ceremony.

    Their two children, Levi Waldridge and Laci Waldridge, were their attendants. 

  • Jean and Billy Ray Buffo of Lawrenceburg will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Aug. 27.

    The couple was married on Aug. 27, 1960 by the Rev. Goodpasteur at a Presbyterian church in Gary, Ind.

    Mrs. Buffo, the former Jean Aeschliman, is a daughter of the late Melvin and Zella Aeschliman.

    She is retired.

    Mr. Buffo is a son of the late Bill and Elizabeth Buffo.

    He is retired from the U.S. Steel Corp. and Sears Roebuck and Company of Gary, Ind.

    The Buffos have two children, Terry Buffo and Kris Bustin, both of Lawrenceburg.
