  • BOYS' BASKETBALL: Oldham Co. gets slight nod in wacky region

    If you had any doubt about how wacky the quest for Eighth Region supremacy is expected to be in 2011, just check out a copy of The Cats' Pause Yearbook.
    The featured player is sophomore Darryl Hicks, playing for Shelby County last year, who was expected to play for Collins this season, but has transferred to Louisville Trinity, where he's waiting to hit the hardwood next year.

    Anderson County's girls' basketball team is being tested even before the term is supposed to start.

  • Bearcats to open Tuesday at Casey County

    The Anderson County boys' basketball team figures to be a work in progress during the 2010-11 season, but get a chance to go against live competition on Tuesday, Nov. 30 when the Bearcats travel to Casey County.
    Some printed schedules have listed the game as being played on Monday, but Anderson coach Glen Drury says the correct date is Tuesday. “We had a late change of the date but the schedules had already been printed,” he said.

  • Dillow, Buser run well at state meet

    LEXINGTON – Anderson County runners Austin Dillow and Dylan Buser put forth strong showings at the state Class 3A cross country meet, held at the Kentucky Horse Park on Saturday.
    Dillow, a junior competing in his third state meet finished 79th out of 228 runners with a time of 17:54.63. Dillow was almost 1.5 seconds faster than last year in the 5K race.

  • Bearcats stage incredible comeback at South Oldham

    CRESTWOOD – Anderson County learned a football lesson, then gave one right back at South Oldham High School on Friday night.

    Down 37-10 heading into the fourth quarter, the Bearcats scored 28 unanswered points for a 38-37 win in Class 5A, District 4 football action.
