  • Bardstown ends Lady Mustang conference reign

    There were few three-pointers which meant no three-peat.
    For the Anderson County Middle School girls' basketball team, there were not many two-pointers either. Bardstown took advantage with a 32-21 victory in the finals of the Mid-Kentucky Athletic Conference tournament, held Thursday at Anderson County High School.

  • Bardstown ends Lady Mustang hoops reign

    Bardstown ended the Anderson County Middle School girls' basketball team's drive for a three-peat with a 32-21 victory in the finals of the Mid-Kentucky Athletic Conference tournament, held Thursday at Anderson County High School.


    The Lady Mustangs' two-year reign over the tournament ended in a way uncharacteristic of a team that finished its season at 23-4 and a middle school career at 72-11.

    Anderson shot just 15 percent from the field on the night.

  • ‘They refused to lose’

    The Anderson County Middle School girls’ basketball A-team ran its record to 19-3 by defeating Shelby West, 40-33 in overtime, for the championship of the Paul Elliston Memorial Tournament, held Friday and Saturday at Bondurant Middle School in Frankfort.

  • Championship dream ends for Mustangs

    The Anderson County Middle School Mustangs’ dream of being a state football champion ended Saturday at Hollie Warford Stadium as Farnsley Middle School, of Louisville, defeated the home team 20 – 8.

  • Holloman continues football tradition

    Brian Holloman came on as head coach of the Anderson County Middle School Mustangs’ football team late this summer. Holloman took the position after former coach Chris Glass had been selected as an assistant principal at Anderson County High School. He took on a new leadership role following a man who had directed the middle school football program to a 12-2 record, a conference championship and a runner-up finish in the state middle school football tournament the year before.
