Makenzie Cann led Anderson with 16 points while Eriel McKee scored 11 and Sydney Brown tallied 10. McKee also came up with 11 steals as the visiting Lady Bears were challenged to overcome the Anderson press.

  • OPINION: Transfer rules need to...

The situation regarding transfers in Kentucky high school sports is simply getting out of hand and I fear that it will eventually threaten prep sports as we know them.

  • DISTRICT TOURNEY THOUGHTS:...

There were no major surprises in the first round of the 30th District Tournaments, being held this week at Anderson County High School.

As expected, the Anderson County and Collins girls' teams had easy times in getting by Spencer County and Shelby County in the first round. Neither Anderson nor Collins played particularly well, undoubtedly because they were such heavy favorites.

  • GIRLS' BASKETBALL: Eighth...

Every basketball season, one of the questions around Kentucky high school basketball is simply, “Which region is the toughest?”

From the looks of the statewide computer polls, the Eighth Region has regained its place as one of Kentucky's best in girls' basketball this year.

  • Rams improved despite losses to...

Community Christian Academy of Independence defeated home-standing Christian Academy of Lawrenceburg, 87-63, recently.

The Crusaders might be the best team the Rams will face all season. Community Christian is an experienced team that plays five seniors with the majority of them being the starters. Head coach Ryan Smith said before the game that a couple of the starters have been playing on the same team since middle school.
