Student, 16, charged for alleged Instagram threat

A fourth student is now in custody following last week’s rash of shooting threats.

The Kentucky State Police just announced the arrest of a 16-year-old male high school student who allegedly used an Instagram account titled “ACSchools_Shooter” with a bio that read “Death Day Will Come Next Week,” according to a news release.

The student is charged with second-degree terroristic threatening and is being lodged at the Fayette County Regional Juvenile Detention Center in Lexington, according to the news release.

Today’s arrest marks the fourth made in a series of shooting threats that took place Feb. 20, followed by another Feb. 21.

The Feb. 20 incidents included two at the high school and one at the middle school.

The fourth took place at Emma B. Ward Elementary School.

Three girls, ages 11, 13 and 16 were charged with second-degree terroristic threatening in those incidents.

The investigation is ongoing by the Kentucky State Police.
