 From staff reports

A Lawrenceburg man was jailed last Friday for allegedly choking and beating a woman and holding her against her will, according to an arrest report.

Kylee Corin Hulick, 23, of 109 West Woodford St. is charged with first-degree unlawful imprisonment and fourth-degree assault following an incident that occurred April 5 on Western Avenue, police said.

When Lawrenceburg police officer Kyle Burrus made contact with the victim at a location on North Main Street, he said in his report that she had just escaped Hulick’s residence and that he had “choked and beat” her during an altercation, according to his report.

The victim had visible redness on her neck and a bloody nose, which stained the shirt she was wearing, Burrus said in his report, adding that the victim told him Hulick prevented her from leaving the residence but she finally managed to escape and call police.

In his report, Burrus said Hulick said he and the victim had only been in a verbal altercation and that he didn’t know how she sustained her injuries.

Burrus placed Hulick under arrest. He was later transported to the Shelby County Detention Center.
