Annual community service day set for April 17

Community Service Day is scheduled for April 17 in Lawrenceburg, organizers announced.

The date marks the second year for the event, which was declared by a proclamation signed by Lawrenceburg Mayor Sandy Goodlett and designed to encourage residents, groups and businesses to participate in community service projects.

Project examples include Anderson County Chief Deputy Joe Milam and Lawrenceburg Police Chief Chris Atkins joining forces to restore bleachers at the Alton Ruritan baseball field.
