No proof ousted clerk given new contract

City says documents don’t exist to back up claim in lawsuit

The lawsuit filed earlier this month by the former city clerk includes a claim that he was reappointed to a two-year term Dec. 1, 2018, but no such records exist at Lawrenceburg City Hall.

Former clerk Robbie Hume filed the suit after he was removed from the position by new Mayor Troy Young. In it, Hume claims Young violated a number of state and local statutes, and that Hume had a contract that runs through December of 2020.
