University of Kentucky signee Connor Heady quickly ended Anderson County's bid for a no-hitter or shutout Saturday.

Heady drilled Brandon Eliadis' first pitch over the left-field fence to give North Oldham a 1-0 lead as the Mustangs outlasted Anderson 4-3 in Goshen.

North Oldham got two more earned runs in the first but Eliadis quickly settled down and set the hosts down over the next four innings. “From innings two through five, Eliadis made less than 40 pitches,” Anderson coach L.W. Barnes said. “He was very effective and efficient.”
