From staff reports

Bro. E. Paul and Mary Lucille Hatchett Perry will celebrate 70 years of marriage April 23 from 2 to 4 p.m. at Heritage Hall Nursing Facilities, Lawrenceburg.

The Perry’s were married April 27, 1946 in Stanton, with Minister C. Marion Railey (former minister at Corinth Christian Church) officiating.

After a quick trip to Sky Bridge, they made their home at Alton Station in Anderson County, until entering the Christian ministry and Kentucky Christian College in Grayson from 1951-55.

Ministries while living locally include Pleasant Hill, Mayo, and Fairview Christian churches. They then left for ministries at Chaplin and Syria Christian Church in Orleans, Indiana.

At the request of the SALT River Christian Men’s Fellowship, they returned to Kentucky to establish Henry Christian in New Castle. Later relocations included Oak Grove in Beckley, West Virginia; Antioch in Mt. Sterling; Salyersville; Graefenburg; Westside in Liberty; and Creelsboro in Jamestown.

After 55 years of ministry, the Perrys returned to their roots of Anderson County, making Lawrenceburg their home.

The couple originally met while working at Lawrenceburg’s “thread factory” Dean and Sherk. She was from Sinai and he from Indian Creek. She attended Mt. Pleasant and Penney’s Chapel, while Paul was from Corinth. This became the home church until entering ministry. Lucille was a homemaker and supported vacation Bible school, youth programs and home ministries.

The Perrys have two sons, also in ministry. They will welcome guests to celebrate with their parents, now 91 and 96 years of age. The couple asked for no gifts. Cards may be sent to 320 Meriwether, Lawrenceburg, KY 40342.

Charles Allen (Chuck) and Sherlan Perry minister with the Peyton’s Lick Christian Church in Montgomery County; and Ernie Wayne and Pam Perry minister with the Broadway Christian Church in Lexington.

Their granddaughters are Katelyn (Josh) Fawcett and Kyleigh Perry of Lexington.
