The Lawrenceburg Pierian Woman’s Club will host its annual luncheon and style show, Hats Off! on April 21 at the Family Living Center of St. Lawrence Catholic Church.
Martha Caywood of the Derby Shoppe and Raggs in Danville will again present the style show, with club members and friends modeling.
The luncheon menu includes Chicken Salad with Pecans and Grapes, Strawberry Pretzel Molded Salad and Orange Pound Cake.
The event will also feature a display of high school art competition entries, with voting for a “Peoples’ Choice” award.
Tickets for Hats Off! are $15 each and may be purchased from any club member, or call Sue Litkenhus, 839-6659.
At the club’s meeting March 15, items were collected for the Hats Off! silent auction to benefit Backpack Buddies.
The agenda included entertainment by BCB and Company, a young quintet who performed “Hits of Motown,” complete with choreography reminiscent of the 1950s.
Paula Rutledge of the American Red Cross described the organization’s response to the recent tornadoes in southern Indiana and eastern Kentucky, as well as its ongoing commitment to disaster relief and preparedness, Armed Forces support, blood banks and international crisis response.
The club also collected supplies for New Opportunity School for Women in Berea, which was devastated by fire last December. A donation to Hospice of the Bluegrass was approved and new officers were elected for the coming year.
The month’s reading selection, “Water For Elephants,” was discussed and “Little Heathens” was distributed for next month.
