Scramble raises more than $3,000 for Humane Socity

The Anderson County Humane Society hosted the inaugural “Putts, Paws and Purrs Golf Scramble” at Wild Turkey Trace this past Sunday and raised around $3,500.

Nineteen teams competed in the tournament, with four golfers making up a team.

The team of Bruce Caldwell, Tommy Vaughn, Anita Vaughn and Roger Cox posted a 48 to win the tournament. Two teams finished in a tie for second just one stroke behind.

As well as the overall competition, there were competitions for the longest drive on hole No. 10 and closest to the pin on hole No. 8.
