Services announced for fallen trooper

Funeral services for Trooper Eric Chrisman have been announced by Richie and Peach Funeral Home in Lawrenceburg.

Visitation will be Sunday, June 28 from 3 p.m. – 9 p.m. and Monday, June 29 from 9 a.m. – 11 a.m. followed immediately after by a funeral service.

Visitation and funeral will be conducted at Ninevah Christian Church on Ninevah Road.

Pastors Terry Cooper and Will Cooper will officiate the service.

The family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Christian Academy of Lawrenceburg, or Supporting Heroes in Louisville.

Burial will follow in Sand Spring Cemetery with full Kentucky State Police Honors.

Chrisman was killed while on duty Tuesday evening. According to reports, Chrisman was responding to a reckless driving complaint on US 62 near the Marshall and Livingston County line when his police cruiser was struck by a semi around 5:48 p.m.

KSP investigators say Chrisman failed to negotiatate a curve and his police cruiser entered the eastbound lane when an oncoming tractor-trailer struck his vehicle on the driver's side.

Chrisman was pronounced dead at the scene.

He is a son of Randy and Dawn Chrisman of Lawrenceburg and graduated from the State Police Academy in January. He was assigned to Lyon County and was residing in Eddyville.
