Sheriff’s office gets clean state audit

 The Anderson County Sheriff’s Office received a clean state audit of its books for 2016-17, state Auditor Mike Harmon’s office announced last week.

According to a news release, Sheriff Joe Milam’s books during that period “fairly represents the taxes charged, credited and paid for during the period from April 16, 2016 to April 17, 2017 in conformity with the regulatory basis of accounting.

“The auditor notes no instances of noncompliance.”

Milam said credit for the clean audit goes to his office manager, Brandi Cook.
