Experts hope more homes become available this year

The local housing market in 2017 was off slightly from the previous year, but experts say that isn’t because it’s slowing down.

Residential sales declined 2 percent from the previous year, according to information released by the Lexington-Bluegrass Association of Realtors (LBAR), dipping from 319 sales to 313.

John Rennells, a realtor with Exit Realty Crutcher in Lawrenceburg, said the minor downtick in total sales was largely the result of so few homes being available to purchase.
