Young Mudcats finish season with winning record, hope for future

A 10-9 summer baseball record might not turn heads until one hears Central Kentucky Mudcat manager Chris Copenhaver talk about his 13-and-under team.

“Honestly, I am very pleased with the boys,” said Copenhaver, who doubles as an assistant coach at Anderson County High School. “We did not play one team this summer that wasn’t a travel team and in (the final) tournament, we played two 14-year-old teams. For them to compete and end up with a record above .500, I think that is a great sign for the future.”
