  • Engagement: Heather Leigh Fint and Robert Christopher Groothedde

    Billy and Amy Fint of Lawrenceburg announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Heather Leigh Fint, to Robert Christopher Groothedde, son of Robert and Patty Groothedde, of Spartanburg, S.C.
    Ms. Fint is a 2003 graduate of Anderson County High School and a 2009 graduate of Bluegrass Community Technical College. She is the granddaughter of Gordon and Pinkie Clark and Bill and Bessie Fint, all of Lawrenceburg, and the late C.W. “Bud” Robinson formerly of Mercer County. She is the great-granddaughter of Mary Fint of Lawrenceburg.

  • Anniversary: Darrell and Sue Lilly

    Darrell and Sue Lilly of Lawrenceburg will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception on Saturday, April 9 from 2 to 5 pm at Alton Baptist Church in the “Gathering Place,” at 1321 Bypass North.  
    They were married April 27, 1961 by the Rev. Orville Neely at Tunnel Hill Baptist Church in Tunnel Hill, W.Va.

    Courtney and Ricky Yates of Lawrenceburg announce the birth of a daughter at 11:19 p.m. March 6, 2011 at St. Joseph East in Lexington.
    Cailie Page Yates weighed 7 pounds, 9 ounces and was 20 inches long.
    Maternal grandparents are Steve Sea of Lawrenceburg and the late Becky Sea. Great-grandparents are Eunice Robinson of Willisburg, and the late Bill Robinson and the late Louise and Namon Sea.

  • Birth: Jake Thomas Jones

    Tom and Christy Jones of Nashville, Tenn., announce the birth of a son at 1:45 a.m. January 11, 2011 at Vanderbilt Medical Center.
    Jake Thomas Jones weighed 9 pounds and 3 ounces and was 22 inches long.
    Maternal grandparents are James and Machelle Hagan.
    Paternal grandparents are Tom and Ann Jones.
     

  • Birth: Paisley Lane McCourt

    Lanessia and Cole McCourt of Lawrenceburg announce the birth of a daughter, Paisley Lane McCourt, born Feb. 3, 2011 at Frankfort Regional Medical Center.
    She weighed 7 pounds, 14 ounces and was 20 inches long.
    Maternal grandparents are Shawn and Candy Caldwell and Sandra Kay Wilson, all of Lawrenceburg. Maternal great-grandparents are Betty Baxter, Aileen Caldwell and Don Hill of Lawrenceburg and the late Garland Baxter, James (Wop) Caldwell and Carol Hill.

    David and Sherri Scrogham of Lawrenceburg and Astrid Schedler of Osnabrück, Germany, announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their children, Chelsea Lynn Scrogham and Tobias Michael Schedler.  

  • Engagement: Carlton-Callan

    Roger and Judy Carlton and Ellenore and Paul Callan Jr., all of Lawrenceburg, announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their children, Brittany Gayle Carlton and Christopher Paul Callan.
    The bride-to-be is a granddaughter of Marvin and Mary Ann Carlton of Lawrenceburg, and the late Howard and Virginia Smith, formerly of Hustonville. She is a 2003 graduate of Anderson High School and a 2007 graduate of Bluegrass Community and Technical College. She is employed at Hitachi Automotive in Harrodsburg.

  • Anniversary: Charlotte and Charles Vaughn

    Charles and Charlotte Vaughn of Lawrenceburg will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary Saturday, April 2.
    Bro. Ezra Sparrow married the couple at the Turner family home in Anderson County on April 2, 1961.
    Charles Searcy Vaughn is a son of the late Charles Samuel and Frances Searcy Vaughn. He served in the United States Army and is a retired pressman from Rand McNally Printing Company in Versailles.

  • Anniversary: Jerry and Shirley Hurst

    Jerry and Shirley Hurst celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a cruise to the Bahamas and a special dinner.
    They were married in Dearborn, Mich., on March 17, 1961. They returned to her home state of Kentucky in 1972, settling in Lawrenceburg in 1975.  
    Shirley was the owner and operator of His and Her Beauty Salon and worked for the KACo self insurance fund prior to her retirement.
    Jerry is a tool and die maker and was employed by YKK Snap Fasteners in Lawrenceburg for 32 years before retiring in 2006 as the machine shop manager.  

  • Anniversary: Jimmie and Margaret Currens

    Jimmie and Margaret Currens will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception at Beaumont Inn in Harrodsburg.
    The reception is scheduled for March 27 from 2 to 4 p.m. All friends are relatives are invited, and the couple requests no gifts.
    The were married March 25, 1961.
    She is retired from Cricketeer in Harrodsburg. He is retired from IBM in Lexington.
    They are the parents of Terry Currens of Harrodsburg and Keith Currents of Lawrenceburg. Their grandchildren are Jesse and Kaci.
