Tyrone’s 1915 Old Ripy Baseball team is shown in this picture sent in by Tom Watson, Eastwood, Kentucky in March 1976. One of the players was transferred to Tyrone as agent for the Southern Railway on Jan. 27, 1915. He had played on the Southern team in Louisville with Proctor and McAleese, who were clerks in the Louisville freight office. There was a great rivalry between Lawrenceburg and Tyrone and the games drew large crowds. Pictured, front row, from left were: Eula ‘Pickles’ Burcaw, C.T. Ward, J. McAleese, Howard Hampton, Allison ‘Toots’ Nowlin; back row: Bill Proctor, Edward Howard, Fred Purcell, Tom Watson, Gary Bottoms, Tom Chapman and ‘Zip’ Hampton.
