The Roots Garden Ministry, based out of Anderson Christian Church, wants to provide for those in need from the roots on up.
About a month ago, a ministry group from the church decided to clear a space for a garden on church property in order to provide fresh produce for local pantry Open Hands.
“Hunger is a problem in Anderson County,” ministry team leader JR Holt said during the Roots’ ground breaking and dedication service on April 14.
Becky Sparrow, a volunteer from Open Hands that attended Saturday’s service, agreed.
