Dear Editor,

Newly announced GOP presidential candidate Asa Hutchinson is the very apotheosis of a sidestepping politician, one who holds his cards close to his vest, one who won’t give an answer to a question.

Like other Republicans, he just can’t bring himself to criticize the former President’s failings clearly and openly, like an honest, self-confessed Christian should.

He gently maneuvers around Trump’s tendency to make everything about himself, saying, “The office is more important than any individual person.” Nothing a 5th grader doesn’t know, Asa.

Trump’s personal grievance candidacy, far from being clinically psychopathic, merely points to “somebody who is really wrapped around what happened in the past.”

Trump’s sociopathic way of carving up public officials and leaving them by the side of the road is just a matter of political weather: “I don’t think you have to be blustery.”

Trump’s overall behavior, far from being epically alarming, is merely “a distraction.” Yeah, like a 160 mile-an-hour tornado is distracting.

If you want a Bible-verse-tweeting tortoise withdrawn underneath his shell, Asa Hutchinson is your man.
